Cindy Hirt "The Process"

Weaving & watercolor under glass...

Weaving includes handspun cotton, leather, pine needles, Spanish moss, broom straw and palm tree bark.

Slumped glass.......

Molds are made of real fish and shells. Glass is fired in a kiln at 1450 degrees capturing the details.

Copper enamels......

3-D die forms were made. Copper is pressed into the die on a hydraulic press then enameled.

Also enameled water and sky scenes.

Recently resin on glass and wood were added.

Copper is cut with a plasma torch and made verdigris.

Then all is soldered together into 

ONE BODY OF WORK
